Tremont. The Scenic Tour.

Historic Tremont, in its perpetual state of change, will always be the "small town in the heart of the city." Overlooking the Cuyahoga River and the Flats, Tremont boasts some of Cleveland's best views – not to mention its own impressive architectural landscape, left over from 150 years of culture shifts.

Original is everywhere.

Tremont's spectacular sights require having a camera on hand. Pick one up at Target in the newly developed Steelyard Commons. Then head toward the beautiful golden domes of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation, built in 1912. Continue back in time to the old Flandermyer Drug Building – constructed in 1881 and remodeled in 1990 – now a coffee shop called Civilization. Other must-sees include Eye Candy Gallery, where Northeast Ohio artists display their original works, and Piccadilly's Fine Art Galleries, featuring artwork from national names. Round out your viewing pleasure at Visible Voice, where you can actually interact with precious works of art. (By which we mean you can flip through the pages of old books and magazines.)

Now it's time to satisfy your taste buds. Sokolowski's University Inn has been serving Grandma's Polish eats since 1923, from President Clinton to Bobby Flay to your average Cleveland Joe. (Or Sally.) If down-to-earth is your style, stop in at Treehouse, where the beer list is taller than the giant tree behind the bar. Dessert is served at Tremont Scoops, a cozy neighborhood ice cream shop whose wall mural features hidden images. But it ain't over 'til the late-night crowd at Edison's Pub says it's over. (Even if it is the wee hours of tomorrow.) Tremont's unique heritage and pride in preservation makes this One Pass Trip quite the day (or two) to remember.
