The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) has scheduled five public hearings to discuss a proposed fuel surcharge and service
reductions.
Hearings for October 2008 Proposals
The fuel surcharge would increase fares.
If those measures are approved by the Board of Trustees, they would take effect in October.
Because of greatly reduced state funding and rising fuel prices, RTA projects a $20 million deficit in 2009, if no changes are made.
