F. Robert Wiesenberger Community Volunteer Award
The F. Robert Wiesenberger Community Volunteer Award recognizes a Greater Clevelander whose
actions embody Robert (Bob) Wiesenberger’s spirit of volunteerism. These characteristics include a willingness
to get involved; an unselfish giving of oneself; an ability to lead others and a desire to enhance the quality
of life in our community.
Eligibility
The nominee must be a resident and perform volunteer work in the Cuyahoga County region.
Nominations
Nominators will complete the nomination form and submit it to the CAB – Volunteer Action Committee. The Volunteer Action
Committee will review all nominations for compliance with criteria and make the final selection on award recipient.
Nominations will be accepted from individuals as well as organizations.

- 2002: Robert Taylor, Ohio City, Boy Scout leader
- 2001: Marie P. Wiesenberger, Rocky River, husband’s number one supporter
Criteria
- Contribution – the scope of the individuals volunteer work and how efforts have improved the quality of life for
Greater Clevelanders.
- Leadership – aspects of leadership may include; ability to motivate and direct the efforts of others, articulate a
service-related vision for the community, or formulate and implement ideas and activities that have a significant
benefit to the community.
- Influence – the degree to which the individual’s efforts have influenced the community and fellow volunteers.
- Length of service – the length of time the individual has been involved in volunteerism in Cuyahoga County.
One individual will be honored each year at the RTA Annual Awards Banquet.
All nominations must be received by March 31 of the year in which the award is given.
